So, What about us? Who am I? Why I created this blog? Why…?
Hi there! I’m Ravindra, the founder of CameraWar.in, and I’m thrilled to share my story with you.
How it all started?
I started loving cameras at such a tender age when i was 12 years old. My father gave me his old film camera, a solid Nikon FM2 and told me ‘Go take the world.’ I could never imagine how that quote define my existence.
I chose this Nikon first, that simple point-and-shoot camera where I got my lessons in composition, exposure and the wonders of freezing time. Over the years I amassed quite a few cameras due to advances in technology. I recall being able to save enough money for my first digital camera; a compact point-and-shoot model that was such a big innovation back then.
That’s why as the passion to shoot increased, I started studying less known details about the DSLRs. I have owned and personally shot with many brands of camera including Canon, Nikon, Sony and Fujifilm to mention but a few. I learned something new from every camera, be it the camera’s low light capabilities, mirrorless mount flexibility or the nostalgic looking Digital Rangefinder with today’s specs.
I have never had it easy though. I have done so many wrong things – from picking the wrong lens to capture a great moment to formattin the card with wonderful shots. These are among the experiences, which I believe have helped me develop my ideas and attitude towards photography and instruments we need.
From the analysis conducted in 2015 I discovered that most of my friends and relatives were seeking advice on cameras. This confused them with technical terms as well as the numerous choices they had for making their decisions. That’s when the concept of CameraWar was conceived. in was born.
I created this blog with a simple mission: to ensure that people who have passion in photography are in a better position to make the right decisions in as far as gears are concerned. If you are a first timer intending to buy your first ‘real’ camera or a pro intending to upgrade from your current camera I’ll be glad to assist.
At CameraWar. in we don’t just repeat what is on the spec sheets. We give practical and tangible information based on practical experience. Some of the aspects that we base our comparisons on are not so much technical as they are realistic use. Honest, straight-forward, and with only a few concessions to advertising, our reviews are designed to encourage you to make your own decision about the brand of camera that is best for you and which you can afford.
For many years we have cultivated constant readership of true photographers who share their experience and knowledge. We have also engaged professional contributors to provide updated information and excellent review on current cameras.
Today, CameraWar. In fact, in is more than only a blog that provides people with the opportunities to read the posts. It is a place where photographers are able to teach, learn and even motivate each other. We strive as well as change with time as the market of cameras and our readers evolve too to provide a good piece.
